HP Designjet T1100 86.01 possible jam

Hello, I replaced the belt and the encoder on a T1100 Designjet. The 86.01 error was apparent at the beginning of the repair. Upon completing the repair, the carriage moved fluid and during bootup, it moved nicely as well. Putting pressure on the carriage tilting it one way or another doesnt seem to change the error state (after cycling machine and while power is on). The encoder is clean. This was my first belt replacement. There is a small 1mm scratch on the encoder from installation but it is on the plastic part, not the metal. I'm not sure if this makes a difference. Also upon disassembly, I found that this bushing was broken > Q5669 60687 how likely is it that it is the bushing? I dont want to replace the entire carriage.

The clear part of the encoder strip is the important part. If there's a scratch in the encoder markings, you'll get an 86:01. And that rear bushing is easily broken when putting the carriage back in and must be in place for proper operation.

Thanks for that! It was the bushing. The mark on the encoder strip proved to be small enough to not matter.
