    Designjet T610 hard drive

When replacing the formatter/harddrive on this machine, does it matter which hard drive you go with. If the old one had IDE, can you replace it with SATA without any problems?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but:

Either type of formatter should work fine, but you must use a hard drive that's compatible with the formatter. That means if you're switching from a PATA to SATA formatter, you must also replace the hard disk.
