    Hp M604 faded prints.

This printer has a light print issue. It only has 11,000 on it. If you slow it down by setting it to cardstock, the quality gets much better. Have tried a new fuser and transfer roller. When I did a partial clean of the hdd, it got a lot better but not perfect enough for the end user. Any ideas?

How heavy is the image fill? Could they be depleting the developer? Slower copy speed would buy you some time to tone up. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.

The issue was first presented as shading and light prints on certain forms. Made me think it was in the app. However my last test prints were internal config pages. Have another 604 across the hall that does perfect.

Too obvious but have you tried to swap print cartridge from printer across the hall?

I recently had a P4015 with light prints after the maint. kit. I put the old transfer back in, and still light. I got a new fuser again, and still light. Finally, I pulled a transfer roller out of another machine, and it printed fine.

I'd try a different transfer roller. We've started noticing bad transfer rollers in aftermarket maintenance kits.

Is the machine plugged directly into the wall? It could be a power issue if they have it plugged up to a powerstrip.

It is plugged ito the wall. The first part I chaged was the transfer roller. Then the fuser. The partial wipe on the hdd made a big differece but not eough. There is anoter oe of these 10 feet away and it is much better. That is what she is comparing it to. I may have time to see it again tomrrow. Will update.

If the transfer roller and toner do not fix the problem then it almost certainly be the HVPS.

Did you use an OEM transfer roller ? You could also swap the transfer roller and toner (as a set) from the working model 10 feet away and see if that makes a difference.

You also of course try cleaning the Laser Scanner Unit Mirrors and lenses.

If that does not fix it then HVPS is next on the list.
