These machines are pretty to look at but the service manual says the only TWO "field replaceable units" are the feed tires and 2nd transfer roller

The instructions to replace the fuser are as long as my arm, the each instruction is a link to it's own set of instructions

I take it they're throw-aways?, if so I should let someone know

Changing the fuser isn’t too bad once you get the covers off, if anyone knows where to get a new fuser (duplex version) for under $200 please let me know, or the lower pressure roller would be nice, fixing films are found everywhere but that lower pressure roller seems to be a main cause for failure in these fusers, rated for 150k? Right! Haven’t had one go over 70k or 80k

Thinking the same thing; working on one now that was throwing a code; initially it was jamming and when they removed the jammed paper they knocked the separation roller out of position and tore the feed roller. Now that I've replaced the feed roller (and pickup roller; sep roller is fine, just back in position), I can't get the machine to pick up paper to print out a usage page. Keeps trying, but no go. Like I haven't gotten the little arm that turns the rollers back into just the right notch or something. Grr.
