    MFP M577 ADF malfunction.

    MFP M577 ADF

Feeds paper fine. After last page is scanned it thinks it still has paper in the docfeeder. Tray raises and lowers 3 times, tries to pull paper then sends a 31.13.01 error code. This happens in Copy and Email mode.

We just replaced the formatter board. So the circuitry on the Doc feeder could have taken a hit also.

did you try cleaning sensors rollers ect?

never replace a board until you have exhausted all other options

    Re: MFP M577 ADF malfunction.

This is what HP says about a 31.13.01 error

Sounds like a bad/dirty sensor to me this is what HP ahs to say.

    31.13.01
Document feeder job error, pick error.
Paper pick was initiated but the page did not make it to the pick success sensor.

    Sensor location 4
    Recommended action
    1. Open the document feeder lid, pull all the sheets back into the input tray, and then resume the job.
    2. Ensure that the input tray is not overloaded and the tray guides are set to the correct size.
    3. Check the document feeder page count for roller life. If they are past the life of the rollers have the customer purchase a new roller kit.
    4. Verify that the paper meets the HP printer specifications.
    5. Check and clean the feed rollers and separation pad. If needed, replace the pickup roller assembly and separation pad.

    6. Open the following menus:

      • Administration
      • Troubleshooting
      • Diagnostic Tests
      • Scanner Tests

    7. Actuate the pick-success sensor. If the sensor does not show correct functionality when tested, replace the document feeder.
For instructions: See the Repair Service Manual for this product.
