LJ enterprise 700 with scanner error 30.03.45 which i understand

may be a common problem. I read that one customer had about 8 of

Their machines with this code. Please advise on what is usual solution

I've been informed the fix is to replace whole scanner section... pricey ... my customer went and bought a Brother MFP

Sorry to rant on this post, but, 'Lj enterprise 700' is the SERIES......READ what is stamped on the front of the unit! I'm guessing this is an M725

Description
Scanner control board (SCB) firmware assertion failure. SCB firmware assert controls the scan head motor.
Recommended action
1. Turn the product off, and then on.
2. Upgrade the firmware.
3. Replace the scanner control board.
4. Replace the scanner assembly.

Typically, the SCB is at fault from what I've seen in the past. Good luck obtaining one. I've waited two months or more for SCBs.

it will be expensive ... -= IF =- you can locate the parts.

Just as an example, the SCB for a Color LaserJet M680 ran me around $231. Not so bad, but, it took 3 months to get.
