Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
If I remember, this is due to a failure of the service station fan. The first thing to try is to update the firmware using a parallel cable. You'll have to put the plotter into the emergency firmware update mode. Like that website says because the plotter wont come to ready. The latest firmware does not check for the fan in order to come to ready. If you can get the firmware updated, you should be done. The fan isnt necessary for use. If you cant get the firmware updated, you'll need to replace the service station. Have run into this code a couple of times. Sometimes I could get the firmware updated, sometimes I had to replace the service station.

It could be the fan on the service station, however a 21:10 error could mean the service station motor was stalled due to blockage. I've found all sorts of things in the service station; post-it note pads, rubber bands, binder clips.. so check that there isn't something caught in it. You can move the service station by turning the white gear on the outside. If it has a fan, that could be the problem as well as Lance described. Even if you get a new service station, it won't come with a fan (usually) so you will still need to update the firmware to get around the missing fan. I haven't had to go through that in eons though so I feel it may be unlikely in your case.

Usually, when I get a service station error, I just take it out, take it apart, clean with lots of water, and put it back together.
But yeah--get the service manual.
