Paper starts to skew after it has fed roughly 40 inches of paper. Customer says they tried resolving issue with HP while machine was under warranty but never got it resolved.
Any ideas of what to look for when we go look at it?
Thanks

Try rolling 6-10' of paper off the roll and run it through the printer.. eliminate the spindle causing the problem. I've found several broken spindles because people drop a roll of media onto it and it breaks the fixed (right) end and ends up moving the roll too far to the right.. and then when they load the paper they're tugging it to the left to make it work.
If that's not it, let me know what media they're using and which way it's skewing?

I've mentioned this in another thread. It sounds like the roller's not getting a good grip. There's probably a mechanical reason, but I've had two machines now where cleaning the roller with rubber cleaner worked (I've also used goo-off, bought at Kroger's--but some of that stuff can deteriorate plastic, so you have to be super careful). You can only clean about 3 mm of rubber at a time. To make this easier, go to the utilities menu and there's a utility to turn that roller constantly.
I should mention too; if they happen to be using HP Instant-dry Photo Gloss media, that's likely the problem. It's been a problem since it came out, something about the backing is too slick for the rollers to grip it correctly. The satin/semi-gloss version does not have that problem.
