Designjet 5000 User Name and Password
When I go to the WebAccess page of the printer and click on "Security", it's asking for a User Name but I have no idea what that name is.
I see I can reset the password from the front panel on the printer. But what about the user name? Is there a way to delete the previous user name, either through the WebAccess feature or the front panel?
Thanks!

Re: Designjet 5000 User Name and Password
I went to the Utilities and reset the password.
When I bring up the WebAccess screen, there's two tabs across the top: "Home" and "Networking".
When I click on "Networking", it brings up a third tab at the top between those two called "Device".
If I click on "Device", it goes back to the "Home" page and the "Device" tab disappears.
It hasn't asked me for a "Users Name" yet, since I reset the password.
But there's no tab for submitting a job. "Submit Job" doesn't show up anywhere on "Home" or anywhere on the WebAccess pages.
Anyone know why the "Submit Job" wouldn't be available? I know it's been there before because I've used it in the past. Been a few years ago though.
EDIT: On the "Home" page, I can reprint a job that's already in the printer by using the "reprint" function on the WebAccess page. Just no way to submit a new job from the WebAccess pages.
Thanks!

Re: Designjet 5000 User Name and Password
I don't think submitting a job was available on the 5000. Only the 5500.
The user manual makes no mention of it for the 5000, only for the 5500.

PS - And, it takes at least a Jet Direct 615 on the 5500 to get the full menus, I believe.

Re: Designjet 5000 User Name and Password
That makes sense now. I had both a 5000 and 5500 at one time in the same office and I must recall using the WebAccess print feature on the 5500, not the 5000. I've since gotten rid of the 5500.
I doubt there's anyway to fool the 5000 into thinking it's a 5500. Not without changing out the hard drive and the main board I'm guessing.
Still can't figure out the disappearing "Device" tab though. That's a real mystery.
Thanks! As usual, your help is much appreciated.
