HP-M608 Paper mis-match problem with multiple machines right out of the box

Purchased 2 different lots of HP-M608 Laser Printers with the same problem. Paper mis-match after a few test prints have been made on the bench. Firmware has been updated to latest available.

are you getting this on PC prints or internal/copies?
are you sure the paper setting match what is in the trays?
other than firmware what have you done?

Internal prints, no network connection. Paper tray #2 is setup for Letter size paper and the type is Plain. Those settings are confirmed on the printed Configuration page. We actually had an HP tech out to our site who disassembled one of the printers and could not find anything wrong. We are trying to stay away from sending 10+ machines back to HP.

I don't usually recommend this.... try a cold reset... but print your config page first .

That's what we ended up doing and started from scratch. That allowed us to manually set the paper size in tray #2 to letter size without it defaulting back to some erroneous setting which we couldn't reset and was causing the mis-match. Thanks for your contribution Phil B. Good Luck w/Florence

yeah like I said.. I only do that cold reset as a last resort. Glad it helped.

Ahhhh like most women I've met/ran into, she seems like she is petering out before land fall. down to 103mph winds and is curving down into SC. This ain't my first rodeo, have been prepping for decades.
