    HP Designjet Z6100 Carriage Question

On the bottom of the carriage there is a thin plastic shield that is attached by friction on some posts that extend from the bottom of the carriage. It appears to be some sort of shield, maybe to prevent ink over spray maybe?

Anyway, this piece has come detached and is dragging across the media. Any suggestions for an adhesive to hold it in place? Thinking of putting a dab of hot glue or maybe silicone on each post to hold it.

I'd use two-part epoxy, myself. Or if it's hopelessly bent out of shape, just remove it. I believe it's to reduce the amount of aerosol that sticks to the underside of the carriage, though I often find a lot of ink under it that's trapped in there.

Agreed. I always see A LOT of over spray in this area. I don't even try cleaning that anymore. I used to take Q-tips to it. Useless........

Thanks for the replies. I'll give the epoxy a try.

Decided to put it back on because it appears to be a cover that is used to secure another plastic piece that looks like it prevents overspray. Cleaned it up and glued it back on. Works like a charm.

    Thanks for all the input.
