Hello,
I think it will be proper if you read the specifications and output of each of the two on-line. Once you already have a budget, you know how much your money can afford. Factors you can use in choosing will include: Papers/Copies Per Minutes, availability of consumables to the printer, availability of parts for replacements, whether it comes wireless or cable etc.
Anyone of us who is affiliated to either company anyhow will write to defend why his brand is the better. The result? An argumentative forum haggling over probably two quality manufacturers- lol
Who knows, there can be a smart marketer somewhere! We hope you get quality for your money.
Before buying anything, call around to local repair shops and find out if anyone can work on them.
I get calls every week for Epson printers. Customers are pissed because they spent thousands on a printer and no one will work on them. I think the closest place to Cincinnati is over three hundred miles away. And Epson guards their stuff, so good luck finding an independent to tinker with it.
Actually--Phil is the only guy I know (online or offline) who will touch one.
Yeah well.
I was factory trained...still hold my certs and epson, even tho I left that dealership, still allows me warranty/tech/parts support. Yes they are VERY protective... but all the models I have to work on (except 1 hit by surge) have all been very minor fixes, and most times user error or too little use.
One thing..epson units DO NOT like AC/heat vents nearby.

Depends what you're printing and what the final use will be. Based on the two models it sounds like you're printing CAD/GIS.
Also do you need Postscript? If you're not printing from a Mac, you can save the expense.
Also note the T795 is discontinued. The replacement (keeping to the 44" width) is the T1700dr.

Hi, sorry for my reply here, I actually have a technical question, not an answer, about the T7200 epson, but I don't know how to post a new thread with this topic.
There's a button that says "Post new thread" at the top of the HP forum.
