HP Designjet 1050C memory not recognized

Technically only the new two 64MB DIMMs are not recognized. The old 16 + 32 are recognized fine.

I've seen a few bad memory DIMMs over the years, but not two, both brand new in the anti-static wrappers. When I insert one of the new DIMMs alongside one of the old DIMMs, the machine boots up and recognizes only the old DIMM, regardless which socket it is installed in. With the two new 64s it won't even boot up.

Is there some sort of memory clear required at a new install? Regardless, I wouldn't be able to get to a service menu to run anything.

I can only conclude that my two new 64MB DIMMs took an unscheduled trip through an MRI machine, and are forever dead. Has anyone come across this? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

did you get any error codes?

This is probably stuff you've already tried:

The service manual suggests replacing one component at a time and perform service test to see what has failed.

When you install memory, make sure the power button on the back of the printer is off not just the front switch. Install and then power up.

To do tests you have to go to the Service Test menu. With the back switch on and the front power switch off, hold the COLOR key and switch the printer on. When you see Initializing you can release the COLOR key. Scroll to electronic systems to perform test. If it passes it will tell you if not you will see an error. Make sure that you cycle power to the printer to get out of the tests mode.

Let me know what you find out after checking this.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Well my test was to print the config page, with the results as posted.
I will try out the service mode test. Thanks =^..^=
