    Where to get HP parts

    Hello there guys and gals.

I'd like to get some advise on where to get HP parts - is HP the sole supplier?
Right now, I'm interested in getting info on HP DesignJet 5000, but in the future I might need some HP LaserJet 2200 parts too - and probably others.

    Thanks in advance!

    For laserjet parts:
    partsnowllc.com

    For plotter parts:
    feedroller.com
This site is also good for service manuals.

    Sweet! Thank you very much.

Could you (or anyone who's knowledgeable) tell me how long does it take for someone who's got some experience with copiers but next-to-none in this kind of machines to replace a worn carriage belt?

The manual seems quite easy to follow, and I see no problem doing it, but I need to have an idea on how long it takes to do the replacing in order to give a quote to the customer.

    Thanks!

The first time I did it it took 90 minutes, but I was reading the manual as I was going along. The slow part is waiting for it to boot up, and to align the print heads. Nothing to do but stand there and stare at it.

Be sure to clean up all the shredded bits of the old belt, especially in the timing pulleys. That can change your belt tension and slow your carriage drive. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Thanks to both of you.

feedrollers.com seems to be a nice site, and ships worldwide too, but it could take more than a couple of days to reach europe.

Anyone knows of a similar company in europe? If not, well, feedrollers.com will have to do.

Yep I agree. If you never did it quote 2 hours so you can be slow and careful.

sorry I didn't reply sooner. TSA sells designjet and laserjet parts we sell OEM for many different brands, including copiers. 800-633-6626
