HP 6040f mfp false replace image transfer unit

I am a Ricoh tech but am trying to help out a customer with this. They have a HP 6040f MFP and it is asking for a new image transfer unit. They have installed a new on but still get the message. Is there something else they need to do to reset it ? Is this one of those kind of things with a fuse on it that resets the counter ? If that's the case is there a way to reset it ?
