    designjet 500 X error

    This plotter wont come up to ready she said it just has a X on the screen. I think she fried the Emod. What do you think? Thanks Jeff

    I have not heard of such. Maybe the screen is broke and the "X" is a crack. Never trust the customer.

    No I haven't been to the call, but she said it happened after she updated the firmware.

    She could have fried the board, but the firmware update process as I know it wouldn't start until the entire firmware was received by the printer then it is written. If they pulled the plug while it was updating that could cause major issues. Go on-site and see what they messed up. You get X's when the ink is out.
