    HP CLJ3505n with background

On the config page it's just light gray background (under magnification black spots), but on full color prints the background has all CMY &K spots. We've tried both OEM & compatible cartridges, no difference. New transfer belt did not help.

This customer is billable and already whining about the transfer belt. I really can't start throwing parts at it. What kind of odds on the HVPS? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If you have cleaned all of the cartridge contacts then probabley the HVSP.

Make sure the printer is plugged into the wall and not a power bus or ups.
Some times (very little) this can make the difference.

We'll never know. The customer set an arbitrary limit of $500, and we've reached it.

The problem was getting worse. Cyan and yellow are entirely absent from all color images now, and the background has a "woven" texture to it. I think the plan now is to buy a 3505/3000/3600/3800 so they can consume the remaining supplies. Thanks for your comments. =^..^=

Just a question Blackcat when you say you're going to buy another machine do you mean a parts machine and is it going to come out of your companies pocket? Im just wondering how other companies work.
