Remove the jetdirect card. Perform a cold reset. Does the printer now come ready?
Reinstall the jetdirect card. Does the printer come ready?
If not is it a JD 615n card?
If it is remove the plastic face T7 bit and bake the board at 350 degrees F for 8 mins.
Please someone here try this it works.

thx rob, i will try that when i attend site 2morrow
The Network card/Port is likely built into the the formatter board on this model.
If this is the case you will likely need to remove and replace the formatter/network card.
If it is a jet direct card remove it from the machine and see if the machine boots up. If it does not you will need a new formatter board. If it does boot up replace your jetdirect card or try to repair using the instructions above.
You can also try a NVRAM reset, though this will not likely resolve your issue.
Good Luck

I maybe wrong but I think the LJ 4300 did not have the internal network port. That came in the Lj 4350.

Hey Rob,
Sorry you are absolutely correct the 4300 does not have a built in NIC. My appologies
Also Deano if you determine it is a JD 615 card causing your issue. Make sure to replace it with a JD 620, not another 615!
Brandon

Be prepared to have to Replace, the formatter, the Dc controller and the firmware...
Do NOT replace all three at once...replace the formatter first and boot it a few times, let it stay on for at least 5 mins, there is a good chance you will still have that code.
You never replace both the formatter and dc controller on one of these at the same time, as they exchange information.
