HP 4345 Scanner Initialization
Hi friends,
I disassembled and cleaned optics now i get SCANNER INITIALIZATION!!!
Will I solve this problem with procedure found in SM?
1. From the Home screen, touch Administration.
2. Touch Troubleshooting.
3. Touch Calibrate Scanner and then follow the instructions in the onscreen dialog box.

I don't think it will even let you b/c sounds like the scanner never intializes. I had one like this and never got it to work. My process was firmware upgrade, cold reset, disk initialization, replaced the formatter, replaced the pcb board thats behind the scanner were the ADF connects. All failed with no success. I think what I had ended up being a bad scanner. I sent it back to company as it was still under warranty with them and all the usual solutions did not resolve the issue.
Do you have another machine that you can switch the formatter or other parts from?

No, this is the only one I've ever seen.
Machine works in print mode, no copy function!
it was mistake disassembling that scanner. I removed the frame with 4 screws with flat cable... Believe it has factory settings and i can't assemble like it was before.

I would power it back off and go back in. Check all your connections to the boards make sure you didn't knock something loose there. When you boot the machine does the scanner light up? What if you go into diagnostics have you tried any of the scanner tests in there?
Not sure what you mean by can't assemble like it was before. If you do a cold reset on the device it would reset all factory settings.

Problem solved.
It took me 3 hrs to adjust right position.
not the best quality, but it works
Whole scanner assy was dismantled in parts (lamp, lens, mirrors...)
Thanks
