HP printing single page docs as duplex

Hi, I have a customer who has an HP4250 which is set to print duplex as default. However, when they print multiple copies of a single page document it comes out duplex.. I've tried to replicate the problem on another device without sucess. Anyone know what causes this?

When they print this single page doc, do they go to their properties and tell it not to duplex?

If they go into properties and tell it not to duplex it won't. But they shouldn't have to. The printer should recognise the single page as an individual document and not duplex. I have the same printer in the office and can print multiple single sided pages even when the default is duplex...
