    4345

    Hello all

i've got a job on monday on a 4345 which has had the swing gear replaced by another tech and the noise is still there.. he reckons it's the gear which drives that which is worn. anyone out there got any experience of changing this.....anything to watch out for?

    thanks

if you have replaced the full swing plate assembly on a 4350 a few times it should be the same just it has more components to remove thats all.
here are some pics of my last call in which i replaced the swing plate assy.

yes the assembly is kind of tricky the first time but after that you will get the hang of it, that picture was my first time replacing the whole assembly and took me about 1.5 hrs.

    nice pictures...brings back memories
You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.... and
if this was an easy thing to do then everybody would be doing it! But it isn't and they are not!!

great video, you used to be able to get the swing plate kit which had swing plate assy and fuser gear. replacing swing plate assy and fuser gear/fuser unit, is the way to go. just replacing the gear and spacer disc the problem would come back very quickly.

    Re: 4345

i have literally done hundreds of these in the shop. Since we already have the covers off for cleaning, etc, it takes me less than 15 minutes on a 4250. 4345 longer as there is more stuff to remove.

One thing is after mounting the swing plate, its a good idea to check the drum drive arm that attaches to the lid and make sure it moves properly. I think I usually make sure its down when installing the plate. I forget, its like auto drive when I do it, lol. I also put the machine on its side when removing and reinstalling the plate on a 4250.
