This machine has approx 120000 pages on it. It went through its original fuser and a remanned in about 10-11 months and had 11000 pages on the reman fuser. Is there something known on these machines for chewing up fusers or an update?

There is a ton of poorly remanned fusers on the market. Also, Not uncommon to have the original last only 100K. The HP LJ4200dtns was product launched in 2002.
SO if you just repalced the original fuser 10 months ago you have nothing to complain about.
Agree with Meach. HP had lots of trouble with 4200 fuser films tearing up. Seems to have gotten better lately, but some remans still are trouble. I use TSAworld remans, have pretty good luck with them. Hope this helps..... Jeff M.
Could you be talking about gear damage? Take a look at the swing plate (fuser coupler gears in the side frame). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Agree with BlackCat. There was a mod issued for the swing gear assembly that drives the fuser. If you see a little pile of brown dust beneath the fuser drive gears...order the swing gear kit.
If the white gear behind the black one in the swing plate is also worn, you need to replace the whole swing plate, not just the kit.

replace the swingplate brown gear and use the spacer...i use TSA everyday but i never buy a fuser if i can replace the film...
If you replace the film in the fuser, make sure while you're in there to inspect the pressure bushings. I believe the bushings causes vibration and that that is what causes the swing plates to fail prematurely.
