My HP CLJ CM3530 came with an expensive HP 615N or 630N JetDirect card which I didn't need and resold for $130.
Since I've been unable to find a cover for the now empty EIO slot I got the cheapest EIO card I could find which I thought would be compatible, the JetDirect 610N.
However with this card installed the machine never starts up, it hangs at step 6 F... Actually on the 2nd try it did start up, but when I connected a network cable to the new card just to test it it said something like "Error, auto-restart...". It seems to not want to boot if a network cable is connected to it, but on the 3rd try the machine crashed and said something like "Turn off then back on" while I was in the card's settings on the machine's display.
Is the card either not compatible with my machine or maybe damaged?
In the worst case I guess I can unscrew the card from the plastic cover, block the network port hole in the cover and use that as a better way to block my EIO slot, but I'd ideally like the card to actually be functional.
Thanks
