Error code 86.01

HP Designjet Z2100 displays 86.01 paper jam code whenever printhead alignment is selected. cannot find any sign of jammed paper.

I agree with Paul. While I've never had that error code on this machine, I've run into this fault on two other Designjets and the manual was the most important tool I had for those calls.
That being said, there are a couple of things you might try, if time permits. If you do have the service manual, see if the explanation of error code 87 might be more helpful in this case. At least that's what I'd try next.
If you don't have the manual, try turning the machine totally off and unplugging the power cord from the wall socket at the end of the day, and then enjoy your evening. Then when you get back to the machine the next morning, plug the machine in and turn it on, and see if that helps.

I am using a manual. have done all adjustments regarding to carriage replacement. Still carriage is hitting the Main PCA only during printhead alignment.
