M4555 mfp error

Hello all,
I have a customer with an HP M4555 (mfp) that shows an error message, but no code. The scan to e-mail function works but nothing else works. It has the warning message on the copy function (exclamation point) and says "an error had been detected, please turn power on/offf. If problem returns call your service rep." I tried the hard reboot (power off, hold right side of start button until three led's light, then release, then press 5, release and then 6) It goes through the hd check and initialize and then right back to the error message. Any thoughts?
