    Re: HP CM8050 Color MFP

HP designed and built the edgeline at a purpose built factory in north America. The finisher was made by a Spanish company and the paper deck is a Xerox product. The machine did not sell as well as they hoped and the manufacture was transferred to the far east. This continued for a short time and all production of the copier ceased. The engine is used in photo booths and there is a new version which is mooted to be twice as fast though I have no other info. The company I work for in the UK bought all HP's stock and we have many out there. They are an expensive machine for parts and very complicated mechanically.
I heard that HP could have bought the Xerox Colorqube technology but decided to go their own way.
