Drive and idler gears appeared okay. Removed fuser unit and it seemed to have excessive resistance when trying to turn manually but wanted to check before ordering to see if I am missing something. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

The press roller bushings usually wear out and crack. You can replace them with the drive gear kit. Bushings come with it. Do the feed gear kit (any supplier will know what this is) and fuser for best results.

I go to TSA World for the gear kit. It will include the fuser coupler gears, pressure roller gear and pressure roller bushings. While you're in there it's good policy to clean the heater element and re-lubricate the fixing film with Uniflor 8172 fixing film grease.

Double check the swing arm assembly. That's what drives the fuser.
make sure that gear is stripped.
It will cause a lot of noise.

I've heard of this issue before. The problem was the fixing film grease.
