HP LaserJet CP5525
Good afternoon all,
Machine will not power on
This machine was located out in a small field office. There was a bit of a wind storm about a week ago and apparently the machine stopped working right around the same time they were experiencing some major power fluctuations. The printer was not hooked hooked up to a surge protector or UPS of any kind.
Is the machine toast? Or could it just be a faulty power supply?
Machine is pretty much brand new, less than a year old.

Check the cost of a power supply against a new machine.

Re: HP LaserJet CP5525
Okay,
So i pulled out the High Voltage Power Supply (its weird the board says High Voltage PS but the service manual says its the Low Voltage PS??) and inspected it... found a burnt out 8 amp 125 volt fuse. Pulled apart an old Canon iR C5185 for its power supply and found a good 8 amp 125 volt fuse.
I swapped out the fuse, and tested the machine, only to hear a soft "popping noise" and the machine is still dead (i haven't checked the replaced fuse yet)
I figure its a fifty-fifty chance that it's the power supply board. IF it isn't, any idea on what else might be the problem?
Thanks heaps

Re: HP LaserJet CP5525
If the control panel is blank when you turn on the product, check the following items.
1. Make sure that the product is plugged directly into an active electrical outlet (not a power strip)
that delivers the correct voltage.
2. Make sure that the power switch is in the on position.
3. Make sure that the fans run briefly, which indicates that the power supply is operational.
4. Make sure that the control panel display wire harness is connected.
5. Make sure that the formatter is seated and operating correctly. Turn off the product and remove
the formatter. Reinstall the formatter, and then verify that the heartbeat LED is flashing.
6. Remove any HP Jetdirect or other EIO cards, and then try to turn the product on again.
NOTE: If the control panel display is blank, but the cooling fans run after the product power is turned
on, try printing an engine-test page to determine whether the problem is with the control-panel display,

Re: HP LaserJet CP5525
So this is the board in question, and the fuse that i have highlighted in Red is the one that i have already replaced once, and fried.

I have since purchased a new Power Supply Board.... what i'm wondering is: before i swap out and pug in this new board, is there another fault in the machine (other than the high voltage power supply pictured) that could cause this fuse to pop? am i running the risk of popping another fuse? or ruining this new board?

Re: HP LaserJet CP5525
Success
Swapped out the power supply. Working perfectly.
Thanks for all of the advice.
