    5550 Fuser Jam

I have a 5550 that jams in the fuser when a full color image is printed. A simple b&w text form or minor color usage prints successfully. The fuser is at 36% in its maintenance cycle and the entries in the event log are 13.02.00 and 13.09.00.

Any ideas why the full color images cause jamming? The fuser looks to be in good shape and not sure if I should try to clean the rollers with any type of product.

The toner is the problem, if you are using compatible cartridges. You can mess with the settings to see if you can lessen how heavy it lays it down.
I just tell customers if they have this issue, they will have to run OEM.

That makes sense. We learned the hard way that non-oem toners are more trouble than they are worth. Where can I adjust the density?

What density do you want to adjust?

From reading several posts it sounds like there is a way to adjust the toner density. However, I could be wrong. The goal is to stop the jamming in the fuser. If there are other ideas I'm certainly open to trying.

See the other thread running on same issue which i gave this info on.

Why oh why do people always blame aftermarket units....

This issue is openly seen on HP tech forum site and seen with HP OEM units.
This is why the demo page prints with a larger "Clear " leading edge , print one and see one side is larger clear edge than the other side of picture.

I did some work with a large OEM user who was having these issues of dark prints sticking to fusers and again these were OEM units
they had to reduce the picture in size to give more leading edge for fuser nip, if the photo was edge to edge it would stick.
with more of a "clear" leading edge the pictures would not jam.

also it also helps to get the fuser up to temp if the machine has not printed for a while and run a few text pages before printing full colour pictures.
the pages would either wrap around the whole top fuser roller or the toner on page would stick to plastic exit plate.

as I said also try changing the density settings for colours, most HP printers have this option.

Clearly not a fan then .

we sell 3 to 1 on aftermarket to Hp Oem.
If ever there is an issue with aftermarket units we get a engineer out to site covered
    under cartridge warranty..
what warranty or service do you get when a HP unit leaks
    in printer ... Simple Non.
Have never had HP oems step up to plate to resolve end user issue or printer,
As said in this case the Oems were the issue not aftermarket.
