HP Laserjet P3015 Service manual
A 49 error on HP printers typically has to do with a firmware error of one sort or another. These can be caused by a number of things.
Things to look into:
The document you are trying to print. Documents with bad or corrupt data in them can cause 49 errors to pop up when trying to print.
The program you are printing from. Some programs can cause this issue. If the above doesnt fix it, try printing a document from a different program.
The driver. IF the driver has gone corrupt, this can cause a firmware error. Reinstall the driver.
Unlikely, but a bad cable can cause firmware issues as well. If none of the above works, replace the cable.
Should all of the above fail, try and find a firmware update for it on HP's website. Install the firmware update and see if that fixes it.
If all else fails, you would be looking at replacing the formatter.
I'd started another thread about a 49 code on HPs and F278 code on Kyoceras that was caused from people printing stuff from recipe websites...another tech mentioned zillow.com can cause these....think the fix was basically upgrade FW and print drivers...

49 error codes are often caused by bad print jobs, too. It could be just as simple as upgrading the software you are printing from.
Thank you everyone for that imformative post.
As I recall they were having a problem with wall port. They switched the cable from the
printer to a different port and that seemed to fix it.
I am going to save that post for later reference.
Thanks
