Georgia man pleads guilty to using customer rewards to defraud Staples
A Georgia man pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston Friday for his part in a scheme to defraud Staples Inc. of Framingham of more than $1.4 million in customer loyalty rewards and product rebates, prosecutors said. Layne Michael Gosnell, 46, along with coconspirator John Douglas and others, allegedly created more than 1,100 rewards accounts, often using fake identities, the US attorney's office said in a statement.
