Wow the 7 series is crap
The OP panel is TINY! Oh my lord I was embarrassed to demo this thing. The bypass is also the cheapest piece of shit I have ever seen
Appearance-wise a big step down from 4 series. Mechanically, time will tell

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
The 308 isn't as bad as the 227. Installed one of each the last 2 days. Two frustrating things so far is having to set the default hard keys and turn on fax line sound.

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
Does it have the 7 inch (no, seriously 7 inch) screen?

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
I'm surprised it doesn't have the same feeder they use on the c35
But I do agree it feels really cheap

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
Thanks for the heads up.. Seemed like a step down to me. I like to know from someone who's had time with the new 7 and 8 series machines, what they're like. We have a new 368 in the box in the warehouse, boss won't let us touch it yet.

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
Yep the 7 series is cheap as chips.
The 8 series now has an intergrated board so everything is on one board.
No SSD to fail.
only time will tell

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
On the 7 series the bypass tray looks cheap as crap. Looks like it is missing something. You have to install the whiteboard on the ADF yourself and install the standard memory during setup.
The display is smaller and lesser quality display. Very grainy looking. I think the touch panel is a different type and is not as responsive as the 4 series touch panels.
I also noticed the paper guides in the cassette feels like they are going to break off when you adjust them.
Haven't seen the 8 series colors yet in person but they sound like they are better built. They 7 series are actually described from Konica Minolta as being a more economy machine. They also list it as a user replaceable drum, lol.
With this new series I am really interested in how it works with Papercut MF with the embedded interface. The I-options on this is much different. There is a Group A and Group B. It is possible to enable web browser without an additional purchase of an LK101 v3 and extra memory. I would like to know if I can install the Papercut embedded interface with i-option without any additional memory, and actually work without issue.

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
so is the 7 series a new black and white only engine range ?
does this mean they are moving away from colour machines with the colour bits missing and gone back to dedicated black and white engines? Last I heard KM didnt want to do that as colour was the future.
Sounds like km made an incorrect assumption.

Re: Wow the 7 series is crap
Yeah there is no transfer belt. It is closer to the 423 series. I think the point on this series was make it cheap as possible.
