bizhub PRESS 1052 saddle stitcher grippers

I've heard a rumor that there is a new style gripper for the SD-510 saddle stitcher. Or perhaps it's it's a retrofit from another model saddle stitcher. Does anybody have details, like maybe a part number?

On thicker booklets it's fine, but on thinner booklets of 2 or 3 pages the paper slips out of the grippers and the staples end up off center, and the fold equally off center. I've already added an additional 1/2 wrap to the spring on each of the grippers. The rumor I heard was there were grippers with rubber tips, for better grippage. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Never heard of a new gripper for this model. I just fought one throwing jams and grinding. I have seen there are foam blocks on the folding blade that get caught in the fold and cause mis folding.

Those have been replaced on this finisher. My customer managed to bend the folding knife during a jam removal. I am perplexed exactly how it would happen. During the part change, I noticed the foam pads with mylars on the new part that were completely absent from the old knife. All but a little residual adhesive and a few scraps of mylar, that is. =^..^=

The fix for this issue is to increase the thickness of the gripper itself.
I took a small piece of rubber and glued one to both grippers. ( separator pad from document feeder works well)
Problem solved. I believe there will be a tech tip.
    Good Luck!
