    L codes

I for the life of me can not find a list of the L codes for bizhub c284. I remember seeing them in one of the manuals but I just can't find it. I have an L-4 code. Google points me to a 423 and says it's the drum, but I'm looking at color so I got 4 drums.

Not sure about L codes as there are none listed in the Service Manual, but.. IIRC the L codes points to one of your components at or near EOL.

    L just means life.
Press menu utility then check consumable life. Thats where the answer will be 😊

    Re: L codes

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the K drum. I know I've seen a list somewhere of those L codes tho but couldn't find it in user or service manual. I used to have it printed out and hanging on my wall but then I moved desks and lost it. Oh well. Thanks guys.

service manual troubleshooting look for p-codes I believe it is in the same section. there is jam codes and service codes and a third option which has the l and p codes.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

    Re: L codes

If you look at the list in service mode, I believe there's a brief explanation of each code. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: L codes

Here are other codes but from 223 manual. I didn't see any in a 4 series manual I looked at. I usually ignored them anyway because the check consumables page tell you what is needed.

    L-6 Developer
    L-7 Ozone filter
    L-8 Paper dust remover
    L-9 Developing unit
    L-10 Transfer roller
    L-11 Fusing Unit
