    Ikon 660 color registration varies

Having a problem with color reg mostly toward last half of copy. Seems to have happen after transfer unit drive shaft got cut in half from e-ring spinning. Replaced the shaft and new transfer belt and everything seemed OK. Got call the color reg was out. Things i have done so far is swap out another transfer unit, fuser, chargers, drums, double check transfer coupler, replace 2nd transfer roller and sep assembly. Thanks for any help.

Had to change file size for the attachments. Remember about 20% of the time the prints come out perfect with no color reg problem.

Have you removed the IDC sensors and cleaned them, also clean the felt cleaner pads that clean the IDC sensors.

Re: Ikon 660 color registration varies

OK went in and ripped this thing apart. Checked the all drum encoder sensor assemblies and all were very clean and no change in color reg. Then pulled out the transfer motor and could see it had a problem. A screw in the gear housing broke off and a gear shaft jumped out of the housing. This was causing the color reg to vary sometimes .5 to 1 mm . I had a 6500 in the bone yard and put in the transfer motor and BINGO perfect prints on #81 chart and also excellent chart of manual color reg adjustment. Thanks to all that helped. Everyone must be watching the Qlympics.
