Konica Minolta bizhub 361 fax sends but does not receive. Just rings on the line but never answers
unset it in service, unplug both fax wires, boot up, let come to ready, shut down reconnect wires, boot up add fax1 as set, initialize the fax, make sure the marketing area is correct fax, reboot and try again.
all else fails try calling it from your cell and see if it even rings.
Surprisingly often, your customer will have no idea what their own fax phone number is. There may even be a fax on the line at that number, just not yours. Or it may just not ring ... or the ring voltage may be too low. Or there may be four faxes sharing the same line, all set to 2 rings, all vying to be the first to answer. Many possibilities. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
blackcat: Master Of The Obvious =^..^=
The fax target is most likely not set to the correct country.
Did all that except for un-setting and setting How do I set the machine to hear in-coming rings? You can hear the ringing on the phone. Also, how important is it to have a 2-wire jack line plugged into the machine. It does send with no problem and you can hear dial tone when selecting off-hook Thanks
Dial the fax number and when you hear it ringing on your cell select off hook and see if it's even the right phone number
Not sure how important but I have used 4 wire cords a few times and worked ok. I mostly use what Kon/Min supplies with fax kit, which is 2 wire. There must be a reason why they only use 2 wire.
EMI and fluorescent lights. the black and yellow act like antennae wires and can cause interference.
2 wire is the safe bet.
ive had many a call about fax issues, changed the wire and never heard from them again about the issue.
call the number and hit the onhook button and see if you can hear yourself on the copier speaker. If so then the pwb with the plugs need to be replaced.
If not but you hear a dial tone then the number you are dialing is incorrect. try dialing your cell from the machine and see what number shows on caller ID.
Try calling the number on caller id and see if machine answers.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
