Question C284e error C2253 after being transported to a new location

Hello Guys, I have a sick printer that after being transported from one place to another greeted me with C2253 error. The printer worked perfectly fine before, although it did get hit in the rear while being transported in the van. Plastic on the top part of the printer cracked and the air duct plastic broke off. I have tried the usual, re-seating all the cartridges and imaging drums, re-seating all the trays. Everything seems to be intact, but no idea there to go next Couldn't find a service manual online anywhere, which would probably help a lot.

This is what i found online regarding this error:

    Code: C2253
    Description:
    PC motor’s failure to turn
The motor lock signal remains HIGH for a predetermined continuous period of time while the motor is turning.
    Remedy:
1 Check the connector between M2-PRCB CN31 for proper connection and correct as necessary. 2 Check the M2 connector for proper drive coupling and correct as necessary. 3 M2 operation check PRCB CN31-9 (REM) PRCB CN31-12 (LOCK) 4 Replace M2. 5 Replace PRCB.

Checked the PRCB and the CN31 connector is plugged in all the way. Re-seated it anyway, the problem still there. Haven't dug deeper yet.

Any suggestions on what else to try? Thank you!

Since machine had a hard move I would look at the PRCB board for damage / cracks, or loose connector. Also anything binded.

Dude if it has evidence of a rear impact you could be looking at a hairline crack on any board.

Looking at your picture it looks like a fairly hard impact.

Send it back to base/swap it out even if you fix that issue it could cause many headaches in the future!

Thanks, most likely this is what I'll end up doing. Doesn't look like an easy fix. To bad this is a beast of a MFP.

They usually move ok without damage. I've had them shipped to me from hundreds of miles away and 99% of the time they are ok. And that's saying a lot if you saw some of the trucks & drivers!

It depends if it is moved properly crated on a pallet vs ghetto style strapped inside a minivan. We got it ghetto style. With all the cartridges, drums, etc installed inside the printer. What are people thinking? Anyone with a service manual could share how to get to M2 motor?

Re: C284e error C2253 after being transported to a new location

All the machine I get always have the toners, dev units and drums left inside when shipped. I would rather have the consumables left in machine when transported. Better than being removed and drums exposed to light & dirt, Dev & toners mixed up between machines, etc.
As long as machines aren't tipped over drums, toner, devs are fine left in machine.

We recently had one shipped to us from another dealer and it was shipped laid down on the right hand door side of the machine, on a pallet. Apart from one broken panel and scratches on every other panel, it worked okay.
