What do you mean when you say you want to "rest" the drum?

The copier not working show change the drum unit

It is not possible to reset the IU life through the machine. The consumable resets the counter.

the drum warning can be turned off in service mode to never stop

from memory the "chip" on the drum is 3 pins, between 2 are a resistor (type identification & installed detection) and between other 2 pins is a very light duty fuse, blown when counter is reset and new to be detected as new. They are smd and very small and fidly to replace.

I have jury rigged a pico fuse between the appropriate pins as required in an emergency to get a blown new toner cart level reset etc.
