Is their a way to Remove CE password requirement from the Bizhub 4050 series?

i would doubt it.... if an end user gets into Service Mode they can really do A LOT of damage!

I think he means after you are in service mode, which you have password for, you can hit the enhanced security mode keys (in SM) and it calls up screen with CE password option.
And yes, it's better to keep it locked with at least the default password, to prevent users from bricking the machine.

Thank you. Two times worked. Can't find logical format though.

Anybody know where that would be? I looked in State Confirmation

    1. Turn ON the power switch while pressing the power key and start up [Extra Service Mode].
    2. Touch [HDD Format] to execute HDD format.
    3. After completing format, turn OFF the power switch of the machine.

We took this machine in for lease return. I am asked to overwrite the hard drive and get a data report. We are a Kyocera dealer so sorry for the dumb questions but I have no choice in this matter.

Am I correct that the hard drive would need a format following running the overwrite? That seems to be the process with Konica Minoltas.

    Thanks
