    Bizhub c454e bypass issues

Paper type letter 100 lb white cover smooth...

The old rollers for bypass will not pull after 40 pages...

    Wait a while print...

    Then after 40 pages jams

Now the new rollers spin and spin...

I have isolated the issue to the big roller on top...

What I am checking is if there is a roller from another model that will work in the bypass

In the sharps... You can't use the recommended rollers...
    It will jam

I am checking if there is a similar issue with the rollers for the Konica bypass...

The original roller that came with the machine works but jams intermittently

The new rollers just spin and can't get a grip...
The new rollers are the green translucent urethane rollers...

The old... Not sure... Checking here to find out...

Also the grey rollers don't work either...

It could be a matter if cleaning or greasing but not sure

Checking with the wisdom of the net...

    Re: Bizhub c454e bypass issues

actually the machine is rated for 80 g/m2
    to load it up...
but can use as high as 300 g/m2 in bypass
in lbs thats about 200 lb paper... in bypass

    part used

    A00F623201

so machine should be able to handle it...

    anything else I can try...

any thing that I can use to make the roller sticky...

    or work better...

    any parts I can change...

    Re: Bizhub c454e bypass issues

checking the service manual found an adjustment... looks like this might be what I am looking for...

1.5.2 Paper jam for thick paper
there is a spring adjustment in this section...
that may be what I am looking for...

if anyone has tried this or something similar... let me know...

If that does not work... then I am going to change the whole bypass paper tray section...

thanks for giving a place to bounce ideas off

    thanks again...

That's what you want right there. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Bizhub c454e bypass issues

The thick page adjustment for bypass worked with some caveats...
if I used the old paper feed top roller and bottom roller worked perfect with plain and thick paper...
if i use the new upper and lower paperfeed rollers... it jams towards the end... of a run with thick paper... I didn't bother to check what it did with plain paper...

If it is working OK with trays, It should work OK with bypass since bypass tray have better pulling capacity.
you need to check very carefully if that paper is suitable for our machine (if bypass is able to pull 300 gsm , so I think 90-100 GSM should not be a big issue.)
IF ROLLERS ARE WORNOUT CLEAN WITH diesel, ultimate cleaning solution.Need some time to evaporate, OR Clean with Moist cloth afterward.
It should work. OR There is some other Problem in paper feeding ( Motor, Gears, Clutch etc.)
