1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

there is an entrance guide plate which is 2 pieces. the finisher came from a wholesaler and doesn't have the correct guide to allow paper from a 654e to go in properly.

No it's the 2 piece metal entrance guide on the finisher itself
guide plate a or b from setup instructions
A3EPIXC010DA guide a
A3EPIXC011DA guide b
one or the other of these go on the ru entrance depending on model. these are the numbers from the install manual, think there are real part numbers for these but am not finding them.
I was wrong, it's not metal. plastic, pn A3EPPP3E01. FS527 was metal.
