    C458 transfer belt damage

Anybody have issues with these failing? Have a low count machine that ruined one, replaced it and within a couple of days if failed again. Appears to be tracking to the rear of the machine, then its torn. All the drums etc look fine.
Can't find anything in knowledge base.

I pour about 2 table spoons of waste toner on the new belt across the entire top width that the cleaning section can clean and then rotate the belt by hand till mostly gone. In my area (where many machines are low coverage) belts will tear up regularly from a flipped cleaning blade if this is not done. Making sure the gradation adjustment is done after replacement also helps with lubing the blade and in some trouble areas, 10 x 255 solid 4 colour a3 test prints are needed on top of this.

Never once had it happen again after my method was put into practice.

Are you clearing the counter when you replace the belt? Clearing counter should trigger a coating of yellow toner to be applied to belt to help with lubrication. Unless KonMin has stopped this procedure on transfer belt replacement.

larger 8 series belt reset doesnt reset the transfer roller automatically, when you reset the transfer roller life you end up with a yellow transfer roller.

Good to know. We mainly deal with 36ppm and lower. Our customers are mostly small businesses, lawyers and churches.
