    C221 Skew

    Hi Guys,

Came to install Bizhub C221 last week.
everything went smooth, on Plain Paper..

but i didn't notice when printing onn thick papers,
not literally very thick, starting from thick 1 (80-100gsm)..

thick 1 up to thick 4, it started to skew..
amazingly, on plain paper (60-70Gsm) no skew at all..

    Replace the whole registration unit,
played and test with loop regj adjust,
    ahhh.. no glory..

if any of you guy have encounter this or has a possible solution,
ill be glad to read it.. thanks!

    PS:
i attached a sample card, with perforated line so i can spot the skew.
Front Side is the LOGO: i fallowed the straight cutting line on front.
2nd Side is the Name: Catastrophic effect at the back. Back Side.jpgFront Side.jpgBack Side.jpgFront Side.jpg

Exactly what weight papers are you running? I do not see any specific weights. And when you feed X specific weight, what specific media type are you choosing? And are the specifications for the tray within it's capabilities? You need to know all these things before considering whether the media is suitable, before you decide to fix something.

Pre-perforated cardstock is one of those media types that I particularly love to hate since it never buckles ... it breaks along the perfs, then tears before exiting.

    Specific numbers please. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    BlackCat is spot on...
I would also ask what is the Print Driver calling for those trays? ( MAC / PC OS? PCL/PS?

what SIZE/TYPE paper is set for trays on Control Pnl and Computer?

what TRAY are they feeding from? (heavy/perf/cardstock/trans/labels? should be from MF/MPT/folddown )

really kinda leaving us guessing without all needed info!
    get back with us... please.

    Hello Guys,

as ive said, skewing starts from 90GSM papers up to 300GSM.
    on plain, 70-80Gsm no skewing.

did play with weight and paper type.

from Thick 1 all the way to thick 4 in manual feed, skewing is very obvious.
C2s papers from 90 GSM up to 300 GSM was use to test the prints.

    skewing in
220-300GSM use Thick 4 in manual tray.
90-110 GSM at thick 1 on all tray
110-180 GSM at thick 2 on all tray
180-220 GSM at thick 3 on all tray

In terms on driving, it PC.. uses PCL and PS drivers. all the same.

    your thoughts will greatly help.
did encounter that type of issue before, on machine about 500,000 prints and replace the registration area solved it.
in this case, its only about 1000 prints.

    Re: C221 Skew

I would not even try to run 300 gsm in a machine like this. Additionally, see note #7 in the specifications: No guarantees of adequate image quality over 210gsm.
