You have to write the operating system again.

    Same Problem...

After booting both printer and controller, controller does not appear in utility mode. In tech rep mode hard drive is on set, and is controller type 2. Occaisionally it will boot but then give hard drive failure error, if this is the case then we will have to replace hard disk. Are there any available preloaded as we do not have access to system disk.

    Thanks

i use a imagefile for the systemsoftware. i use a program called Acronics true image, and make a copy of an working system HDD. i just put the image on a new HDD, mount the HDD and set up the systemsettings again. maybe calibrate also.

If the system files need re-written, you may want to consider replacing the hard drive at the same time. I've been burned a few times with flakey hard drives getting re loaded and then crapping the bed again shortly after. Just my $.02

Looks simple enough by the instructions... Do you have instructions on how to replace the hard drive (CN3102e) found same drive online for $60

That looks like it will do the job. And a pretty good price too.
