B458e usb port not working

Hi All,

I just received and installed a new MFP board and while performing board replacement at the firmware step machine just boots up. I have tried various firmware and even inserted the flash directly on the board and it does not get to the FW screen.

Due to this I am stuck with error code (C-C164)

Is there any ICP that could of popped or has anybody had this issue.

The other MFP board is completely dead machine does not start up at all as if the power supply is damaged again here is there an ICP that I can look at?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Check label on new MFP board, if that"new" board is actually repaired or cleansed you may need special reset tar file “a789be.tar”.

• With the repaired MFPB installed in the machine, please do the following
o Flash the machine with G00-16 firmware
o Put GG9-84 firmware on USB drive, hold down the Reset button, (C258/C308/C368 only)
o Go through the screen calibration
o When firmware screen appears, at the bottom right you will see Boot Rom, select it and update boot
Rom only.
o Remove USB drive and boot machine.

Front USB port on new MFP board not working!?
Veeeery unlikely!!!

First, after fitting new MFP board, have you connect front USB (extension cable) to correct port on MFP board?
Second, maybe your USB flash drive don't fit in all the way.
In that case you can remove extension USB cable from the board and put flash drive directy in that port on MFP board.

Dude there is a sensor connected to the flap that covers the firmware port. If its not plunged in the machine will not even read from it.
Found that i have created this scenario for myself before.

There is ICP list for every model available.
Then again ICP's are easy to spot.

8 series firmware is done on the front CP usb. the 4 series was on the MFPB behind a plate.

Ok discard my advise wrong machine type

Are you sure you loaded B458 firmware onto USB and not the C458 by mistake.
