    Re: Firmware

Why can't you do it the more conventional and easier way with a thumb drive or CF card depending model?

You can ask and someone here will provide you with F/W if you need it.

    Re: Firmware

i havent done it via ISW since they stopped giving you firmware as a single file.

never been able to get it to work since 4 series and to be honest I dont see the use in it anyway. much faster to do it via USB

If I remember correctly the Bizhub 601 uses a CF card that resides in the machine. Check your service manual to make sure.

    Re: Firmware

You update the Biz 601 firmware with a thumb / jump drive using the USB port on front of machine. I remember having to install the F/W in steps, will not install correctly if you try to jump right to latest F/W

This is out of the service manual:

    5.2 USB ISW
    5.2.1 Outline
Conduct the ISW locally by connecting the USB memory to the USB port of the main body.
    5.2.2 SPECIFICATIONS
    A. Parts required to conduct the USB ISW
    • USB memory : 1 pcs
The following shows the conditions of the USB memory that can be used.
    - USB memory which does not have a security function (or the security function can be turned OFF)
    - USB memory whose capacity is 1GB to 2GB is recommended (In some cases, the operation does not work
if the capacity of the USB memory is 4GB or more)
    - USB2.0 compatible
    - Formatted in FAT32 style
    - USB memory which is recognized as the multiple drive on the computer cannot be used.
    Note
    • Create the BW75_60 or LoadableDeviceDriverROM folder directly under the USB memory route.
    • When copying the firmware to the memory, be sure to copy ".bin" file and ".sum" file or ".drv" file
and ".sum" file at the same time.
    • Be sure to copy the files of each firmware to the USB memory in the configuration of the folders
    shown in the below.
    • In bizhub751/601, [Image_controller] folder is not used. (Composition of the folder is common
    with bizhub 750/600. )
    • If the copying is not completed correctly, a message " The data is not found" is displayed on the
panel when the ISW files are selected.
    BW75_60
    MFP_controller
    Operation_message
    Image_controller
    Printer_controller
    Finisher_controller
    Fax_controller
    LoadableDeviceDriverROM

Nope. Check out procedure in SM described above from copyman.

    Re: Firmware

You use the CF card to re install base firmware, but thumb (or thump lol) drive for subsequent updates.
