Konica BH 4050 slow transmission and reports

Customer complaining of Konica 4050 (rebadged Lexmark) fax slow to complete sending and long wait for confirmation reports. When faxing from a small Canon to the same numbers.....transmission and confirmation reports much faster.
    Any ideas/suggestions much appreciated.

Is Fax is on a analog line or VOIP? If it's VOIP adjust per manufacture recommend settings usually 9400 baud rate

    • Slow down the transmission speed. Set the BAUD rate of the fax machine to 9600 bps or even lower (7200 bps would be the next slower setting).
    • Turn off or disable ECM (error correction mode), a setting, usually defaulted on, that many fax machines have.

Some fax manufactures as Kyocera have a shorted handshake for faster transmission rate when faxing to another Kyocera machine.
