DF611 on C253 is not recognized

Hello guys,

From some strange reason, a C253 machine won't recognized the DF, it's like it isn't there. If I'm opening cover or put paper on it, nothing happen. I already check the connector, everything seems to be ok, but the DF is not working at all. Any ideas?

check in the service mode under system 1 / trouble isolation see if doc feeder is on the list. default should be " unset "

Are you sure it should be named 'doc feeder'? All I found that sounds near this is scanner, it is 'unset' but if I am changing to 'set' and restart the machine I am getting something like 'You cannot copy scan or fax something is not working properly'.

Im checking thru SM and cant see that u must turn on something....

I would suggest that u do an firmware rewrite. I never connected any of those DF on c series but from B/W series DF is automaticly turned on when u plug it in the machine.

I know, and it is a noise specific when the DF is turned on but this one is completely silent

Try firmware revrite whit DF connected. U cant lose anything.
U will have to test the DF on any other 203 to 451 machine to eliminate c253.Next would be FPR
