You need to magnetize it from time to time.
Used to use my car battery and some wire but that would let your screwdriver stick to the machine frames. Could hang it upside down from metal shelving.
    That is too much tho.
    Just get a proper magnetizer/demagnetizer.
    Whatever

Oh Man! Kneeling on that dropped screw really hurts!

If you can still find the Schroder 47473/Craftsman Grip-Drive, it is a terrific screwdriver. Nice and heavy.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i always drop the B423 dev unit screws because they are non magnetic presumably to not interfere with the dev roller

The feed units is the one that could lead to irritation on those models if you don't have the right kit.

I had one of the cheap screwdriver magnetizers that fit perfectly in the slot in my toolbag where I kept my favorite phillips screwdriver. Every time I pulled that screwdriver out of it's space, it automatically magnetized it for me. It was a happy accident but still a good idea.

I use a panasonic electric industrial screwdriver with a dewalt magnetic bit holder. We discussed screwdrivers on this forum before. It's small, balanced, and Lith batt lasts weeks. Great for all the screws Jap's use in these copiers.

Never actually lost those. But I have more than I can count lost many a screw, clips, pins and springs. That's why I keep a box of spares in my tool bag.
