Lightbulb C450 scanner - it's alive...?

Hi all!
Why does a Bizhub C450 in energy save mode / sleep mode light up the scanner lamp for about 1-2 seconds and move it just a bit and then return it to home position? Without anyone touching the machine or using the network or anything?! This comes as a regular interval, let's say an hour or one and a half or something between.

Everything works perfect and the machine has just got 200k on it (the scanner is very little used), but doesn't this "function" stress the scanner lamp unneccessary and shorten it's life? And what is the purpose? Just recently noticed this when working late with other equipment and it was a bit darker in the room. Curious also to know if there's a possibility to turn this off and what is the "cause". Also, is it better to switch off the secondary power button than leaving it in power save/sleep mode when not using it for a couple of days? Haven't noticed this on other machines...

Thank you in advance!

It does the same thing even when the secondary power switch is off! How can I possibly switch off this function on the scanner? It activates the scanner and lights up the lamp for some strange reason every hour or so... Does it do the same thing on other bizhubs as well?
